Parent Support Network

Aspire’s Parent Support Network is a family-centered program that helps parents and caregivers support a child with behavioral health needs. Through education, connection, and shared experience, the program gives families tools and support to move forward with greater confidence.

A Community of Support

Caring for a child with behavioral health needs can feel overwhelming. The Parent Support Network gives parents and caregivers a welcoming place to connect with others who understand similar experiences.

Parents and caregivers can:

  • Share experiences and learn from one another
  • Build a stronger support system
  • Receive encouragement in a judgment-free setting
  • Build confidence in their role as caregivers

Guidance from Lived Experience

Trained Parent Support Specialists are an important part of the program. These specialists have personal experience helping their own families navigate behavioral health systems.

Support may include:

  • Help navigating behavioral health and community services
  • Information about diagnoses, treatment options, and care plans
  • Help preparing for school meetings and advocating for a child’s needs
  • Support with family communication
  • Connections to local resources and ongoing services

Education and Skill Building

The Parent Support Network helps parents and caregivers build skills that support the child and the entire family. These resources are designed to help families feel more prepared and supported in daily life.

Topics may include:

  • Behavior management and positive parenting strategies
  • Stress management and caregiver self-care
  • Crisis prevention and planning
  • Stronger family relationships and communication
  • Understanding the System of Care approach

Family-Driven and Child-Focused

Aspire believes families are important partners in care. The Parent Support Network uses a family-driven, youth-guided, and community-based approach so each family’s voice is heard and valued.

Families and providers work together to identify support based on each child’s strengths, needs, culture, and goals.

Stronger Families and Better Outcomes

Success may include stronger family relationships, greater caregiver confidence, better communication, and improved outcomes for children and youth. When families receive support, children are better able to grow, succeed, and thrive.
